REBECCA
TAICHMAN
REBECCA TAICHMAN is one of only six women to win the TONY Award for Best Direction of a Play, which she took home in 2017 for “INDECENT,” by Paula Vogel. With a diverse repertoire spanning Shakespeare, contemporary plays, opera, and musicals, Taichman is a visionary director who enjoys conceiving of and co-creating new work. She is currently working on a number of large-scale music-based theater pieces.
“As a director, Taichman refuses to be categorized. Her career to date features an eclectic range of works – from new plays to outdoor operas.”
– Playbill.com
“Taichman has a proven knack for framing difficult plays in tantalizing ways. Her saucy, la dolce vita The Taming of the Shrew remains one of the smartest nights of Shakespeare the company has offered.”
– THE WASHINGTON POST
